Darwin, the sociality corollary, and critical animal studies
by Carmen Dell’Aversano
AbstractDarwin, the sociality corollary, and critical animal studiesThis paper was originally presented as one of the Opening Statements in a plenary session of the XIII EPCA conference in Galzignano (Padova, Italy) in July 2016 (the original English text is available at http://www.pcp-net.org/journal/pctp17/dellaversano17.pdf). It aims to connect PCP and Critical Animal Studies through an exploration of some usually neglected implications of Darwin’s evolutionary theory on the one hand, and of a radical constructivist position and, more specifically, of the Sociality and Construction corollaries on the other.
Keywords: Personal Construct Psychology, Critical Animal Studies, Darwinism.

Equine assisted constructivist psychotherapy: theory and practice
by Francesca Del Rizzo
AbstractEquine assisted constructivist psychotherapy: theory and practiceHorses had been a primary resource for men since their domestication: at the beginning they helped in any kind of job and made possible travels and transport. Nowadays they are used in sports, free time activities and therapy and they still prove they can be great companions for human beings' enterprises. In the therapeutic field they are traditionally used in hippotherapy, in therapeutic riding and in riding for the disabled persons. More recently EAGALA (Mandrell, 2006) developed a psychotherapeutic practice that uses horses as facilitators. Following a childhood dream I'm now trying to develop my own constructivist psychotherapeutic model involving horses as co-construers of the therapeutic experience. I'm trying to subsume the therapeutic approach developed by EAGALA by means of PCT theoretical tools (Kelly, 1955). In this talk I will discuss my efforts in this direction especially through a case report.

The arts at play: working with artists and PCP in organizations
by Erica Costantini and Elena Tammaro
AbstractThe arts at play: working with artists and PCP in organizationsThe workshop presented at the EPCA 2016 conference, after highlighting the strong connections between PCP and contemporary arts and their effectiveness in improving organizational growth, introduced a methodology for operating inside organizations which assumes the co-construction of the intervention by a PCP consultant, responsible for the analysis of client’s needs and group processes, an artist, the catalyst for change, and a producer, the crucial mediator between consultant, client and artist. The workshop participants experienced this intervention methodology by working directly with an artist and realizing a collective artwork piece, which embodies the group answer to a question about PCT identity.
